What Life's All About...

After ten months of getting to be a part of this little girlie's life, you start to realize what life's all about.

It's summer mornings sitting in the backyard--Lucy lounging in the shady grass while you pick blades of grass and digs up rocks. It's sun-kissed skin on a two-mile hike to Ely Creek Falls along with a warm nap and snacks where we sneakily took Lucy.

It's weekend fairs at Dino"SAUR" days to shop from local vendors and listen to live music. It's crawling in the grass at city parks and playing with maracas at the Pasifika festival in Provo.

It's summer afternoons in the kiddie pool splashing and playing with toys. It's weekly play dates at the park with our new friends. It's many weekend trips to the Wasatch Front to be spoiled by grandmas and grandpas, loved by aunts and uncles, and to play with cousins of all ages. It's playing at Highland Glen Park and splashing in the chilly pond water... not to mention you slurping it up from around your floaty every two seconds.

It's day dates with Daddy in Manila when he travels for work and park adventures before eating lunch at the best hamburger place in the world.

It's meeting animals of all kinds on our afternoon walks.

It's Mommy first scare when you crawled up multiple stairs for the first and then fell down them. It was Daddy's first time calling poison control after you got into the diaper bag and tried to use the hand sanitizer like a sippy cup.

It's how you cruise around our house holding our hands with us in tow. It's how you play hide-n-seek with Lucy and have now started playing it with Mommy. It's how fast you are at getting from one end of the house to the other... and how fast you can crawl up the stairs all by yourself now.

It's how often you crawl to Lucy while she naps and you pull her lips apart to play with her teeth. And how every time she licks your hands and cheek, you giggle and run away. It's the many times you try to share your toys with her. You wave it in front of her face for her to lick... and then pop it in your own mouth. Mommy and Daddy are pretty fast at taking those toys away, but you're so sweet to share.

It's the increasing moments when you crawl into Mommy's lap or pull yourself up to stand against my legs. It's how happy drinking water from Mommy and Daddy's glass makes you... and how you dip your fingers, then hands, then your whole arm into the water before we're done.

It's how you book it to the fridge and steal the mustard bottle everytime I open the door. How your little voice says "Dada" over and over again all day long. It's how your high-pitched squeal tells us when you're excited about something--and how often you squeal throughout the day.

It's how you like to help Mommy do laundry, vacuuming, dishes, and sweeping.

It's the hundreds of times you try to escape from our hugs and kisses and crawl as fast as your little legs will take you into the playroom or play in the dog food and water.

It's your sweet personality we fall in love with more and more with each passing day. We are so lucky to get to share your life with you!

We love you, Evie Bug!
