Happy First Birthday, Bug!

Image
Happy 1st Birthday! Evie Bug, I can't believe you are one year old already! The past twelve months have flown by and we've had some awesome adventures. The best adventure of all, though, has been watching you learn and grow every step of the way.  I could spend hours reminiscing about all the fun times our family has had together--hiking to Jones Hole and letting Lucy trespass, playing airplane in the living room to chase Lucy with you strapped to my chest (you couldn't even hold your head up), to the many  times you tried to eat Lucy's dog food... and the few times you succeeded. But so much has happened in the past month alone, I'll stay there.  Every day your sweet little funny personality shines more and more. You are the light and center of Mommy and Daddy's lives! You have the sweetest smile that lights up any room and the silliest laugh that sends us all into giggles. You have the saddest cry that Mommy and Daddy break all the rules f...

A Summer of Sun, 11 Months of Fun

Image
Summer's in full swing and this little baby is on the move! Evie, you certainly keep Mommy and Daddy on our toes every second but we love how much you're growing and exploring. You haven't started walking yet, but that doesn't keep you out of trouble. Daily you sneak around barricades to climb the stairs, you fly across the room in seconds to pull the mustard bottle from the fridge or to climb into an open drawer unnoticed. You unroll the toilet paper in every bathroom and pull every book from your bookshelf each morning. The diaper box is always empty (because the diapers are strewn around the room) and if anything has a place it belongs, you're happy to fix that. Most days Mommy follows behind you putting things away. Sometimes you help, too. You're getting really good at putting things 'IN' instead of just taking them 'OUT'. You're the greatest little thing to come into our lives and you are growing so fast! We always catch you...

What Life's All About...

After ten months of getting to be a part of this little girlie's life, you start to realize what life's all about. It's summer mornings sitting in the backyard--Lucy lounging in the shady grass while you pick blades of grass and digs up rocks. It's sun-kissed skin on a two-mile hike to Ely Creek Falls along with a warm nap and snacks where we sneakily took Lucy. It's weekend fairs at Dino"SAUR" days to shop from local vendors and listen to live music. It's crawling in the grass at city parks and playing with maracas at the Pasifika festival in Provo.   It's summer afternoons in the kiddie pool splashing and playing with toys. It's weekly play dates at the park with our new friends. It's many weekend trips to the Wasatch Front to be spoiled by grandmas and grandpas, loved by aunts and uncles, and to play with cousins of all ages. It's playing at Highland Glen Park and splashing in the chilly pond water... not to mention ...
